About Us

The Well-Hung Lamb Co.Ltd. at Reidchalmai Croft is a small family-run business in the Highlands of Scotland, dedicated to high-welfare animal production.

All our meats are either 'birth to plate' on the croft or, in the case of wild venison, sourced locally. By handling the entire process ourselves, we can always guarantee excellence of quality. Keeping the business small ensures overheads are kept to a minimum making our prices very realistic for premium-quality produce.

Efficient, compassionate animal handling, grazing on ancient species-rich pastures and heather and skilful on-the-premises hanging and butchering ensures a quality rarely found in these days of impersonal mass-production. Carcases are hung for the optimum time to give succulent, full-flavoured eating. We constantly take pride in striving to present our meats at their absolute best.

Regularly inspected by Quality Meat Scotland who set the very highest standards for animal welfare, we are also founder members of the Scottish Crofting Federation Croft Brand.
